ShadowEater made a pre-pandemic shift from science fantasy author and podcast cohost to Chaos Magickian seeking immortality in the vein of the ancient Egyptian burial rites, the Books of the Dead. 

In the journey he discovered that preparing for a death that sets you up to escape reincarnation is also living a life of joy, fulfillment, and personal integration.

It took six years to gather the tools and put them into action. Now he is ready to share it.

ShadowEater’s Order of Book Builders blends Chaos Magick fundamentals, do-it-yourself philosophy, psychology, personal development circle work, I Ching, mindfulness meditation, and pranayama into an eight cycle method to fulfill the esoteric directive, Magician Know Thyself. And to get what you want out of life. And to have more moments of high strangeness!

Six years of fiction writing earned ShadowEater the ability to channel and the courage to hear intuition. He discovered his Writer’s Muse is Eris, goddess of Chaos to some, inspiration to improve for him. Then he spent another six years learning and practicing magick, meditation, and mysticism daily. He found personal contentment, success and satisfaction in his career, self integration, and improved his interpersonal relationships, all with the magick that forms the backbone of this Order.

Now his next step is to share the techniques, mindset, and way of being present in life that grants inner contentment, a reconnection to joy, and the path of his life’s true purpose.

The Order meets live with on a dedicated Discord voice channel from nine to midnight each Thursday (occasionally on a Wednesday) to pathwork a sacred text passage and learn a technique or topic to help build the book and to complete a magickal mindset. Or work solo; all the workshops are recorded and available in order. You could also catch up on some while dropping in live on others. 

There are eight cycles, each with eight workshop, a project, and an initiation. Each workshop is recorded from the live session and saved in a Discord thread to allow Book Builders to work when they have time. The first cycle, Mind (or esoteric Air/East) is available for everyone. Those who complete the requirements can unlock the next grade, until they have initiated into all eight. 

The initiations pair breathwork and guided meditation to recreate spirit contacts ShadowEater had which inspired, informed, and guided the development of the Order of Book Builders. The first Mind Cycle Initiates completed the Initiation and loved the experience. Both the initiation recording and the sigil for the cycle are the initiates’ to keep and repeat as desired. They actually get better upon repeating. They were designed to emulate a psychedelic experience with powerful, yet simple breathing techniques.

ShadowEater is not a special guru or enlightened master. He is learning as much as teaching. Creating your own Grimoire in the Order of Book Builders is exactly that, not a copy of anyone else’s. It will be born from you to pull out your Ideal Self. Because a first rate you is better that you being a second rate anyone else.
